BACK IN THE BUILDING AGAIN!

in the month of September a 2nd lockdown was implemented by Prime Minster Dr. Keith Rowley as a second wave of Covid 19, caused community spread. The church doors were once again closed. RM continued with its online programming with online broadcasts on Sunday mornings and the growing Married to an Angel online show on Facebook and YouTube.

We returned to the building at the end of October just in time to prepare for our Anniversary celebrations.

FIRST VIRTUAL CONVENTION/CRUSADE

Revival Mission held its first virtual Convention and Crusade from Monday 9th  to Fri. 13th. November using the Zoom platform. The Media department worked feverishly to ensure that this event was a success.  Speakers Rev. Leon Mendoza, Carol Mendoza, Peter Mendoza, Lorna Mendoza and Overseer and Senior all shared evangelistic messages giving with the theme ‘THRUST IN THE SICKLE’ Rev. Stephen Mendoza preaching on the last night of meetings.

Many were seen showing their videos sporting the designed background which highlighted the theme. The event was also streamed live on facebook.

CELEBRATING 30

Sunday 15th Nov. was indeed a memorable day in the life of the church as we celebrated our 30th Anniversary with a special service. It was good that we could have gathered for such a special occasion in the midst of the pandemic.

The service was filled with energetic worship ,special items and our Senior Pastor shared the vision for the church as we seek to follow our 2021 theme ” Thrust in the Sickle.”  and also preached on the topic ‘Now Hiring” with the main scripture taken from. Matt 20:1-16.

The traditional cutting of the anniversary cake was different this year with our Pastors cutting and sharing the slices of cake to all Elders and Deacons right there in the service.  The Vote of thanks was given by our First Lady Pastor Lorna Mendoza. All members and visitors were treated with a meal afterwards An overall successful celebration

This event was also streamed live on Facebook.

WHAT A YEAR!

RM closed out the year with two of its regular year end services. Christmas morning and what is popularly called Old Years night service.

Our Christmas morning one hour service was not with the usual pomp due to the pandemic but many came out and we give thanks for the birth of Jesus Christ.

We held two one hour services on Old years night. Both Services were well attended.  Our worship team sang songs all written by members of the team and our Pastors shared on the 2021 theme “Thrust in the Sickle”

Our Annual multimedia presentation showing the highlights of activities of the year was also show.

The services ended with families coming together for prayer.

June to August

BACK IN THE BUILDING!

Prime Minster Dr. Keith Rowley brought good news to our church and the Body of Christ at large. On June 12th churches reopened. With stipulations of observance of the Covid health guidelines, we held two one hour services on Sunday mornings 7 am and 9 am and also resumed our Friday night meetings , Prayer, Youth and Kingdom Kids.
It was great seeing our members face to face after that long lock down.

NEW CHURCH DEDICATED

Sunday 11th July was a time of celebration for Revival Mission Santa Flora. They celebrated their 5th Anniversary and Dedicated their new rent free santuary. It was good to see a new church dedicated in the midst of the pandemic when many churches were closing down. Pastor Leon and Carol Mendoza testified of the journey in building this church in a few months. The evening dedication service opened with a street procession accompanied by the Cadet band and the ribbon cutting ceremony was officiated by General overseer Rev. Stephen Mendoza.  The building holds the main sanctuary, kitchen, office and washrooms for male and female.

CELEBRATING OUR PASTORS

Our annual celebration of Pastors appreciation day was celebrated on Sunday Aug 2nd. It was a celebration with a difference in many ways. It was first a threefold celebration of Rev Stephen Mendoza’s birthday, The Pastors wedding anniversary and appreciation.  Although it was celebratory  time the second difference was it being celebrated in the midst of the pandemic thus the usual hugs and kisses was not able to be shared. However our Pastors did expressed that they felt loved and appreciated even though it was from a distance.
The service entitled “Our Blessings” was filled with worship, special items and two 15 min sermonettes by Bro Dane Miller and Elder Corisha McKenna. A beautiful green and white three tier cake and other gifts were bestowed.

NEW SOULS WON IN COVID!

In the middle of this pandemic when many are falling away from their relationship with God and the church, RM rejoices over twenty nine (29) new souls coming into the kingdom.
Two baptisms were held on Aug 16th and 29th
One of our Baptisms was held at Carat shed beach in La Brea.
It is also a custom of our church that if anyone at the baptism location would like to be baptized on spot, we follow the scripture which asks the question “What doth hinder you to be baptized?” Because of this biblical principle, no one is denied if they ask to be baptized. A family of seven made the decision right there on the beach to serve Christ and were baptized.
RM is now in the process of nurturing these new souls.

March to May

CHAIR LIFT INSTALLED

In response to the Elderly and those with health challenges that affect their mobility, an electronic stair lift chair was installed in early March. As a church we are elated to have lightened the burden of those who had to walk up our flight of stairs week after week.

HANDLING COVID-19

Churches all over the world have been severely affected due to the Covid-19 virus lockdown.  All our services were suspended in the month of March for a  period of 10 weeks (upon the time of this report.)
Great effort was made to remain in contact with our members through phone calls, visits and online programs.
Support to the Elderly and those in need was done by providing food hampers and assistance was given in other areas.  The Government also provided us with food vouchers which was distributed to those in need. So we give God thanks that even though Tithes and Offerings significantly dropped that we were still able to be a blessing to many.

ONLINE PRESENCE STRONG

As with most churches, Covid-19 forced us to instantly become an E-Church.  Fortunatley for us we were prepared. In the month of September 2019 our media department upgraded its equipment in preparation for streaming live  online. It was this said equipment plus the addition of a new camera that allowed us the opportunity to broadcast to the world.
Our online activity included Zoom Prayer meetings, Bible Study and Ministry meetings. We hosted three main programs online. Sun morning services, RM Kids Time and Married to an Angel.  We have seen tremendous growth on both our Facebook page and Youtube channels. We also got great reviews on the quality of our programs.

Feb Highlights

PRAYER SAIL

Many saints from our church as well as other churches journeyed by the Water Taxi ferry  to our city of Port of Spain on Feb 20th. Prayer was done on the ferry and at the destination Brain Lara Promenade.  The aim was to lift up our nation in prayer in the capital city. Sharing of the gospel by tracks and word was also done. There was satisfaction that the scripture were adhered which admonished us to pray for our nation and leaders.

INDIA MISSION

Our Pastor left on Feb 3rd for his annual mission trip to India under the organisation International Missions Ministries headed by Rev Wade Mahabirsingh. Highlights of the trip were visits to some churches as well as several in-house cell meetings that went late into the night. As they visited house to house several residents waited up for long hours until they arrived. Many people gave their lives to the Lord during these cell meetings.  Our Pastor also held meetings with the Indian ministerial team to plan a Big Married to an Angel Conference. in 2021.

FIRST TIME IN GHANA

On Feb 18th Rev Stephen Mendoza and Music Dept. Director Claudine George set foot for the first time in the country of Ghana. This visit was at the invitation of Pastor Steve Yaboah a Ghanaian Pastor who has visited our church regularly for over fifteen years. Pastor Yaboah who is based in Texas USA, is presently building a church in Suhum Ghana. His ministry “Church of the Healing Cross” held its first ever 3 night crusade at which Pastor Mendoza and Claudine  ministered. Ministry also took place on Sunday 23rd at the compound of the church. We thank God for the new work which has started as we pledged to partner with Pastor Yaboah to train and develop this ministry, by making yearly visits and providing online training.

Jan Highlights

OLD YEARS NIGHT

Many came to give and re-dedicate their lives to the Lord at our Old Year’s Night service after our Pastor preached on the topic Focus. He shared that we must have 2020 vision spiritually and listed many points that will hinder our focus and how to overcome. After our service we rang in the new year with a Bar-be-que lime (fellowship)

WORKING ON NEW YEAR'S DAY

On New Year’s Day several of our members came out to lend a hand to one of our members whose home we are building. Our “Each One Help One” project has embarked upon building a new home for a family whose present home is collapsing. Many including our Pastors came out to work mixing cement as well as doing several other tasks. The project is carded to be completed by the end of February.

7 DAYS OF PRAYER SUCCESSFUL!

For the first time our church held the shortest ever January fast but what was considered by all to be to  the best. After our Pastor requested that we take 7 days of absolute withdrawal from work schedules, food and anything that distracts from our focus on God, many flocked to the sanctuary daily and nightly spending quality time in God’s presence. Three times per day cooperate prayer was done and Sunday 12th Jan the fast culminated with a powerful Holy Ghost anointing service.  We expect great results from this fast.

SWIM COACH EXTRAORDINAIRE!

Our Pastor does not only preach and oversee churches. He is also a certified swimming instructor who owns the swim club “Eagles Aquatics” He is also the trainer of one of our nations top female swimmers Cherelle Thompson. At a recent Olympic qualifying swim meet in Tennessee, Cherelle came first and clocked a time of 25.39 secs (personal best record) thus making her dream to be in the Olympics in Tokyo Japan a reality.  Our Pastor is credited as the coach that believed in her when all the naysayers said negative things against her. Congrats to both Cherelle and our Pastor for this tremendous victory.

2019

UNITED NATIONS AWARDS

Our Pastors were recently appointed by the Academy of Universal Global Peace of USA, as Goodwill and Peace Ambassadors with the United Nations. Even though our Pastors have received many awards over their years of service in the Kingdom, they always say we are not to big on titles but big on function.

CELEBRATING 29 YEARS!

Revival Mission recently celebrated 29 years as a church. Our Convention week and Anniversary Service was held from Nov 13th – 17th.  Our Special Speaker for the Anniversary was Pastor Raj Bahdal. It was a time of celebration and thankfulness that God brought us this far.

1ST RMBI GRAD

Our first ever Bible School Graduation was held on Nov 15th 2019. Our school was officially opened in the year 2017 thus after completing a full two year course in theology, seven students graduated. We are continuing to believe for he the growth of  Revival Mission Bible Institute.

WHAT’S NEW?

TESTIMONIALS

I started going to this church since age 5 and at the time of this testimony I was 14 years old. I believe my coming to this church has made me into a fine young man. Thanks to Pastor Stephen and Lorna Mendoza for being my spiritual mentors and helping me to keep on the right track when I stray at times

Youth
I have been a long standing member of Revival Mission for 28 years. What made me plant my feet there for so long? Well I would say the love of my pastors. A man and woman of God who are true shepherds filled with genuine love. Pastors that are easy to communicate with and will do all that's in their power to see you grow, I could just go on and on....but in a nutshell I said to them more than once if ever I leave here I will go no where else.
claudine george
Deacon
I joined the Revival Mission family through marriage. Not only did I make my wife very happy, but I was well received by all. I never regretted my decision and I am so grateful not only to be a member but also be given the opportunity to serve in this portion of God's vineyard.

Lionel Sampson
Deacon
I want to let the world know that I have Pastors that are true servants of God. I don't just say that loosely but its because of the many times they prayed for me and spoken many prophetic words of encouragement into my life and I have seen it come to pass and bear much fruit over and over again.
